Company Spotlight: Prisma Guitars

  This year at NAMM we were fortunate enough to meet guitar builder, Nick Pourfard from San Francisco, CA. I have been playing guitar for a long time and consider myself a gear nerd, but had never heard of his product. His company Prisma builds premium guitars out of recycled skateboard decks! Many people think that skateboards are made from plywood… The truth is they are manufactured from exotic woods like hard rock maple. This is the perfect specie for a premium guitar. Nick draws the inspiration and direction for each piece, from the colors that begin to come through during the reclaiming process. Once the patterns and colors show their character, he decides which route to take from there....

NAMM Show 2016

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us in our first year at NAMM! Since launching in August of last year, we have come a long way, and this event made us realize that we have built a brand and product, people now know and love. Am I Good Enough to Join a Band?

There are a lot of musicians out there who choose not to join a band as they think they are not good enough… Who cares! Just do it, at the very least you will get WAYYYY better. I am writing this to encourage people who play casually or alone to seek out other musicians to jam with. The fear of not being good enough or simple lack in motivation is no reason to not join bands. Nothing compares to the feeling you get from practicing or performing with other artists. Northwest Spotlight: Witherow

Being from Seattle, we love to feature bands creating unique and inspiring music right here in our own back yard. As most of you know, it is not hard to find amazing talent within our city limits, but often times the outliers are the ones to watch. The Olympic Peninsula band, Witherow, has been catching the attention of much more than just music lovers here in Seattle. Formed by musicians/sweethearts Abby Mae Latson and Dillan Witherow, this group is certainly onto something different. Beyond their dynamic vocal ranges, you will find they have a unique way of dovetailing traditional folk rock with modern and sometimes ominous guitar undertones.
